Murray Thomas Miles, Jr Memorial Scholarship Recipient for 2024

Ella Leigh Hasty

Ella is the daughter of Jeffrey and Leanne Hasty of Smyrna Tn. She is a 2023 graduate of Stewarts Creek High School. Ella is currently attending UT Martin where she is majoring in Agribusiness Communications. She maintains a 4.0 grade point average.

She served as the Stewarts Creek FFA Chapter President her Junior and Senior years. Ella served as the 2023- 2024 Tennessee FFA State President.

Ella is also a member of the National Honors Society, National Beta Club, “Every Positive Influence Counts (EPIC) Club, Tennessee Cattleman’s Youth Association, Collegiate Farm Bureau, Collegiate FFA, and Baptist Collegiate Ministry.

Ella’s current goals are to graduate from UT Martin with a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Communications. She wants to continue to grow her current Charolais heard on her grandfather’s farm. Ella plans to be involved in the everyday operations on the farm and to help maintain it, while keeping it in the family. As a communications major, she hopes to share the stories of hard-working farmers across our great state of Tennessee and our nation.

Haylee Ann Ferguson

Haylee is the daughter of Kevin and Phyllis Ferguson of Rockvale, TN. She is a 2021 graduate of Eagleville High School where she attended K – 12th grades. She was a member of the Rockvale FFA Chapter for 5 years, and Rutherford County 4-H Club member for 9 years. She currently attends the University of TN Knoxville, and she anticipates graduating with a B.S. in Food and Agricultural Business in May of 2025. Haylee plans to further her college career with a graduate degree in Agriculture Economics. She has maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout her scholastic career. Among several other honors too numerous to mention, Haylee is currently an American Jr. Shorthorn Assn. Board Member. She is 1 of 9 elected board members to represent greater than 6,000 Jr. members nationally.

Hannah Harrell

Hannah is the daughter of Cynthia Harrell and James Harrell of the Readyville Community where she assists with the families Beef Production operation. She is a 2023 graduate of Oakland High School, where she was a member of the Oakland FFA Chapter. Hannah served as the Tennessee FFA State Treasurer for 2023 -2024.

She is currently attending MTSU and maintains a 3.75 GPA. She is studying Plant and Soil Science, with a minor in agriculture. Hannah is also a member of the MTSU Block & Bridle Association and the Collegiate FFA.

Kaitlyn Robichaud

Kaitlyn is the daughter of Tim and JoAnne Robichaud of the Readyville Community. She is a 2024 graduate of Riverdale High School where she was a member of the FFA and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She was the Chapter President for 2023 – 2024.

Kaitlyn will be attending MTSU this fall where she plans to pursue a degree in agribusiness with a minor in food science.

Carter W Hazlett

Carter is the son of Elizabeth Hazlett and Chuck Hazlett of Murfreesboro. He is a 2024 graduate of Siegel High School where he was an active member of the FFA and maintained a 3.617 GPA.

Carter was the 2023 – 2024 Siegel FFA Chapter President. He will attend MTSU in the fall where he will pursue a career in Residential Construction and Land Development.

Ashton C Reed

Ashton is the son of Larry “Jason” Reed and Erica Tudor Reed of Milton, TN. He

Ashton is the son of Larry “Jason” Reed and Erica Tudor Reed of Milton, TN. He is a graduate of Oakland High School, where he is a member of the Oakland FFA Chapter and has a 3.09 grade point average. He previously served as the Oakland FFA Chapter Secretary 2020 – 2021 and 2021 – 2022. Ashton earned the FFA State Degree at the 95th Annual Tennessee FFA State Convention in Gatlinburg, TN. Ashton plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin and study pre-veterinary science for livestock and possibly double major in either biology or agribusiness.
